Emerging from an ambitious dream and blossoming into the business it is today, AAKS has been my driving force and passion since 2015. So, I thought, why not take a moment to celebrate everything we’ve accomplished and re-introduce AAKS in all its glory.
A product of generations of knowledge, workmanship, and community, AAKS is a blend of Ghanaian artistry and design. When I started AAKS, I knew I wanted to create a brand or rather, a movement that prioritised sustainability, craftsmanship, and quality, while embracing the flavours and colours that Ghana has to offer. AAKS was born.
Since then, we have been hard at work introducing the world to the weaving techniques and creativity of the women of Ghana through our beautiful bags. Designed with a keen attention to detail and vibrant, bespoke colours that are tailored to each season, our bags are made from sustainably and ethically sourced Ghanaian raffia. The result? An individually handcrafted bag that tells a unique story (and looks good with any outfit!).
Now stocked in over 60 international stores (including prestigious names like Shopbop, Monsoon, and Globus) and acclaimed by the media as one of Africa’s pioneers of sustainable fashion, we are so thrilled to continue this exciting journey.
